Internet VoIP Telephony

Internet VoIP Telephony is the wave of the future

What is Internet VoIP telephony? It’s a new way to reinvent the traditional telephone system. It seems likely that Internet VoIP telephony will soon completely replace the traditional phone services that are now being marketed. This revolutionary technology has existed for sometime, but now the broadband network is robust enough to make it reliable and popular. Traditional carriers like AT&T are now setting up VoIP calling plans in countries around the world.

What’s difrerent about Internet VoIP telephony is that there is now more than one way to place a phone call. Three different ways to use this service allow the consumer flexiblility.

The first, and most common, service type is an “ATA” or adapter. This is the simplest way to use Internet VoIP telephony. The ATA is an adapter for converting analog to digital signals, allowing the system to be used with a regular telephone. Once converted, the signal is converted to digital data and sent over the Internet. Internet VoIP telephony providers generally bundle ATAs into their packages without charge, and it can be set up simply by plugging your analog phone line into it. This type of system easy to install, and straightforward to set up.

Buyers can also look for an IP phone, with specialized hardware suited to Internet VoIP telephony. These look, sound and act just like ordinary phones with a cradle and handset, but instead of connecting to a standard phone jack, it has an Ethernet connector which plugs into a router. All the necessary hardware and software is already inside of the phone.

Internet VoIP telephony can also use software to make phone calls from one computer to another. Long distance calls are free, often even the software is free. This option requires no hardware other than that which comes with your computer: a microphone, speakers, and a sound card — and an internet connection. The faster the connection, the better your call quality will be. There is usually no charge for computer to computer calls, even if they are long distance or overseas (except for your standard monthly internet connection fees.

Internet VoIP Telephony is going to change the face of the telecommunications industry, providing faster, cheaper, clearer service to every residential and business customer. There’s simply no comparison between the many advantages of Internet VoIP Telephony and the disadvantages of the ancient fee-heavy, tax-laden unpredictable phone services of the past.
